In April 2023, Zeofixer®, a silicon-based phosphorus sequestering agent, was applied to Lake Sha in Wuhan for phosphorus reduction.
Location of Lake Sha
Lake Sha is located in the northeastern part of Wuhan. Lake Sha has an area of 33.4 ha, which is the fourth largest city lake in Wuhan after Lake Tangxun, East Lake and South Lake.
Application on Lake Sha
The pre-treatment total phosphorus concentration in the water body was 0.139mg/L.
According to the requirements of the local environmental protection bureau, the total phosphorus in the water body should be reduced below 0.05mg/L after carrying out the application.
In April 2023, Zeofixer®, a silicon-based phosphorus sequestering agent, was applied to Lake Sha to reduce the phosphate concentration in the overlying water and permanently “cap” the sediment.
Result of the Application
Thirty days after the application, the total phosphorus concentration in the overlying water had stabilized at 0.04-0.05mg/L (Removal Rate: 64%), which achieved our customer’s needs.
Comments from Our Customer
“Zeofixer® not only makes the project quality meet our expectations, but also saves at least half of the material purchasing budget for phosphorus sequestering agent.” said Mr. Luo, GM of ORCA (Wuhan) Intelligent Technology, who is the owner of this project and used to be a user for conventional LMB.
